Built adjacent to an existing outdoor pool, the Steinbach Aquatic Centre (near Winnipeg) is the only place to go if you want to "swim with swine"… no really you should try it! The three-little-pig spray features that are a part of the distinctive décor package are only a portion of the attractions at this facility. With most of the now standard features that VDA has introduced into the design of aquatic facilities over the years, this pool has everything that a community could want and more.

The design incorporates the most up-to-date water treatment, humidification control, and HVAC systems. The building envelope is specifically designed to deal with the unique conditions of the pool environment and local weather conditions. Consideration of how to link to the existing outdoor pool and allowance for future expansion, which may include an outdoor splash park, recreational, and community uses were taken into account and allowed for in the design.

By expanding on what had been a strictly one season outdoor pool facility, the community of Steinbach has created a year round facility with the capacity to recapture financial investments and move toward income generation for upkeep and future expansion.
